JSON Loupe · last updated 14 July 2026
JSON Loupe collects nothing. It has no network access, no analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, and no third-party SDKs. Everything it does happens locally on your Mac.
JSON Loupe reads the file you preview or open, renders it on screen, and forgets it. Files are read only — the app never modifies, copies, uploads, or transmits them. Nothing is stored outside the file's own location, and no copies are kept after the preview closes.
The app makes no network requests of its own. The only exception is a deliberate action you take: if you click a link inside a JSON file, or choose “Open URL”, macOS opens that address in your default browser. JSON Loupe only ever passes http and https addresses to the system.
The app stores a single preference on your Mac — the view mode you last used (Pretty, Tree, Compact or Raw). It never leaves your device.
JSON Loupe is a developer tool suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
